Flaar makes the difficult..

On Sign Market, I have seen many different approaches and sales tactics from many companies.

However,I am following up Prof.Nicholas Helmutt since 10 years that He is working hard to follow up all

exhibitions ,visiting many companies and make reports to the market.

There is only way to survive of Flaar after all expenses however Flaar makes hard work.

Flaar serve Reports to all with suitable costs .

Honestly ,I appreciate Mr.Helmutt for difficult business to carry on and support the World Wide market.

If you think to invest Industrial Textile printer,

Never the less , Everyone talks about Digital Textile these days due to production ,revenues and profitability.

However there is 3 level of Textile printer  to invest:

1.Entry Level Textile&Soft Signage Printers:  Mostly  Mimaki,Roland,Mutoh,Epson dominant and new Chinese Epson DX-5 printer market. It is entry level, cost effective and slow printers for mostly Sublimation and Dispers ink printing.

2.Medium Level Textile&Soft Signage Printers: If you  are not only Soft Signage but also Real Textile factory ,then you start to think from this level of printer which speed upto 100-150 sqm per hour .
It is all kind of Textile inks ,dispers, sublimation transfer, acid, pigment and reactive ink applicable.
Mostly DGEN,MS,Eurotechprinters, Mimaki printers are dominant on this market.

3.Industrial Level Textile printers: This is for Textile factory level. Highest speed and best production quality for Reactive,Subliimation transfer,Pigment inks. Mostly Brands of printers,; MS,SPG Stork,La Mechannica,Durst,MonaLisa and Eurotechprinters are the player of this market.

As you see European companies are dominant on Industrial Level Textile printers.

I recommend Italian and Turkish Eurotechprinters where Italians and Turks are mostly Textile countries ,they

known what Textile needs more than other countries..

On digital printing if signage, textile,POP stand business , you must evaluate below

questions answers before to reach right profit level.

1-Analyze your country digital printing market(which  side has big competition, low profit, which  one has low competition, low job printouts and highh demand?)

2-Analyze your own company and express your goals

3-Compare your goals and financial statements, inc.loan possibilities

4-Decide  whether you go for profit or revenue based.

After 4  steps, you have alot of parameters on table.

Dont  copy  another business models to your company which usually  done. Every

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!

Digital printing market is full of success and fail stories.

Most of companies would like to be first pioneer for newest machinery and technology may cause serious

losses on the market.
Examine very well!!!

If you fail in your investment of digital printing machinery before, here are some points for your next move:

1- If you new technology printer that nobody has it , Ask 30 days Demo in your site to see real production.

2-If Demo 30 days in your site is not valid, then Ask 7 days Production in printer supplier site and you will use printer. (Dont Trust Sales people words and promises)

3-If the printer has already install few people , get list of these customers, and call any day any of them and ask all details. If possible visit them.

4-Listen to rumouring of market... If you are not blind, you will see good or bad voices coming around..

I recommend not to jump in to the pool where there is no water....

If you want to buy Cheap Outdoor printer,

Time is rushed out with many problems, everyone seek around best possible solutions.

No one accepts to pay high for anything.

We also look for cheap outdoor printer , however we dont known which we should choose.

If we go Roland,Mimaki,Mutoh, quality high ,service nice but cost is also high...

If we go any Chinese printer, Faster than Japanese ,quality is acceptable in some places however service and

support is headache.

There should be some solution on market where Cheap and acceptable quality where market seek around.

I believe  this place gonna fill out with 2 companies:

1-Mimaki coming out more powerful on market with new printers....

2-New family based printer manufacturers, like Eurotechprinters,MS.... also has interesting solutions.

Waiting for new Pioneers....

If you are Printer Distibutor of any China Product,

If you are Printer Distibutor of any China Product, Please Read this Article...

If you decide to read this article, Most probaply you are Wide format

Printer distributor from China any brand or you are thinking to start.

As you do have Price Pressure from Market and due to Chinese getting

Market share, you and competitors fighting with Pricing and payment

facilities on market with sametype chinese products.

All Points about Chinese Printers:

1-China factories priority produces printers for China Domestic Market .

And then India and other Overseas.

2-China factories first aim to sell maximum printer with min.profit lenght

but Short-Term Replacement mentality. Printer changeover time table

now in China about 1-1.5 years. It means every year Customer change

printer. And printer structure is made for this demand.

3-Due to short term usage China printers are

useful, however No China printer can work

perfectly

3 years comparing any Japanese products.

4-China factories buys all raw materials from

similiar vendors therefore Most of them look very

similiar on mechanical internal parts.

5-Any China Printer factory that you make

Agreement sales distiribution Can not protect any of

your rights legally ? Because China still not signed WTO(World Trade

organization Rules). If you distribute any Chinese printer, any of your

enduser can also buy from same source from the China show with Cash. It

doesnt protects yourside.

6-OEM or Special brand Printer, That you change

printer Name cannot effect market ,because

Frame is easily recognize and Alibaba.com is

big source for all endusers.

7-Support of China is painfull. Even they are

friendly,Your needs and their needs and

approach totally different.

8-Profit side looks promising however All your competitior have similiar

machines and specifications that you dont have right profit on long

term.Only winner is China factories which sells huge.

IF YOU WANT TO BE DIFFERENT THAN OTHERS, EUROTECH IS RIGHT
ONE!....

If you think to invest Eco-Solvent printer,

                              BEFORE INVEST ECO-SOLVENT PRINTER,READ THIS !

After the economical crysis reached top level at 2008, All Digital printing market approaches changed.
Today almost 5 years passed away, Still all we are struggling  financials and also price pressure on the market.
However, The demand of Digital Printing on Signage due to printer segmentation is looks like this all over the World.

Printing Segments Ratio
Solvent Printing 37%
Eco-Solvent Printing 20%
Latex Printing 25%
Water-Based Printing 3%
Textile Soft-Signage Printing 15%

* As reference of 5 different Sign Magazine information,we collected this date. Data has variations upto more less %10 .But picture almost same.

Therefore it seems Solvent Printintg itself Declining compare to last 5 years ago which was aroun 50% however declining of Solvent printing still not fast as expected due to economical issues.

However  the List shows that Eco-Solvent(or Low Solvent) printing increased %50 percent and Latex printing with the push of HP increased from %200 percent on the market.

I will recommend below Eco -Solvent Printer on this blog,

1-Roland Eco-Solvent printer:  Leading printer manufacture from Japan, specially force market with Print and Cut printers so many years. Roland still leading company on eco-solvent printers however the speed of printers are slower than competitor, and Chinese Epson head printer will be real competitior .However Roland is high quality based printers. And Roland printer doesnt require service a lot.

Roland Printer Models are:

Eco-Solvent Printers

Eco-Solvent  Printers with Metallic & White

I dont recomment Eco solvent printers with Metallic&White due to quality issue and high cost of ink.

2. Mimaki Eco Solvent printer:-Another Leading Japanese company, They are very attractive on 2011-2012 . Mimaki opening New Mimaki owned companies many Emerging companies where Mimaki expect high value . Mimaki expand products much faster after they release Print and Cut printer and Mimaki JV5( which is not perfect printer).Mimaki also launched Latex based ink printer which is second printer of the world after HP and also  bring first White Latex ink from Mimaki.

I recommend Mimaki JV3(old model) and mimaki JV33 printer which highly stable .
JV33 Series
Mimaki Printer Models are:

    JV 3 Series
    JV5 Series
CJV30 Series
3.Mutoh Eco Solvent printer- This is also Japanese company called Mutoh,
they seem not going smooth on business where they close down Mutoh Belgium
factory and getting smaller  size and also rumoured on market that Epson and Mutoh
has close relations and relation may end with Mutoh will /may acquire by Epson
 on long run.(rumoured only)

Mutoh printers are not bad but complicated and not stable compare to Roland and
Mimaki.

4.Seiko printers - Latest Eco solvent(Low Solvent compan)- Seiko Holding is huge
,including printhead manufacturer and another company is printer manufacturer
 Seiko Infotech.
They had very famous Konica 512MH based Seiko Colorpainter printer with
14pl printhead which is also OEMed by HP 3-4 years and finalized unsuccesfully
where only TOYO ink  shoulduse . It was strange that  Seiko used Konica head in
 first pritnter.
Seiko new printer Seiko H series with Seiko 508gs printhead on multicolor option .
It is fast and perfect quality however printer price and ink price is not competition
with mimaki-Mutoh and rolandwhere they use EPSON head.

5- Eurotechprinters - Mid-size Turkish printer manufacturer where they establish
Konica 512/1024 14pl oxy -eco odorless solvent printer-Printer price is expensive than
Roland-Mimaki and Mutoh but size is 3.2m and speed is %50 faster than them.
Ink price 2 times cheaper than others. Quality looks stabil however
Signage price competition needs low price ink and printer.

You will find more Chinese Printers however Service and Stability is issue ,But they are king of
price .

These are all reality of Market.

Color Terminology..

DICTIONARY OF COLOR
Honestly, I was impressed with the people that How much they known about Colors on Digital Printing .Most of them has limited terminology but huge practism.
I read many articles and glossy about Colors on many pages. And finally understand to combine most important words and explanation which needs for Digital Printing . As you do understand that we are not university student in the market but still have serious confusion about terms.
In my Dictionary is just Relating Digital Printing terminology with Solven,UV,Textile printing basic s.
Such as, Dpi and Ppi has really mixed each other.
Therefore on this belog ,I will  get all these basic informations from some  useful links such as Flaar.org,SignLink,SignWeb and with my own portfolio.

Here are my Dictionary of Color where it is brings you value:
·          Adobe Gamma, a function to calibrate monitors provided by Adobe Systems.
·         Adobe RGB 1998, sometimes written as Adobe RGB. Released in 1998, Adobe RGB 1998 requires the use of a monitor profile and then in theory, images will display identically on any monitor that is using the same profile
·         banding are horizontal lines on a printers where it caused by mostly mechanical rhytem problems . Banding is an undesirable effect of all sizes and shapes of inkjet printers, both piezo and thermal. Banding easy visible on Solid colors There may be lines or absence of image within the bands.
·         black is the absence of any color because the object has absorbed all color and hence reflects none back to the observer. In theory black results when you combine all three primary subtrac- tive colors. But the actual inks or paints are not pure enough and the end result would be a muddy dark brown. Hence in printing you need pure black colorant to produce your black type and other desired blacks. In the abbreviation CMYK, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, black, the K is thought to come from the old fashioned printer's term as the key color.
·         black point compensation is the adjustment of black points between different color spaces, which allows for the darkest darks of an image to remain unchanged.
·         channel, specific color areas of an image. Examples of channels are red, green, or blue for RGB and cyan, magenta, yellow, and black for CMYK.
·         chroma is saturation, the quality of a color that is the combination of hue and brightness. White, black, and gray have no chroma.
·         color (brightness, colorfulness and hue) color requires an observer, an object, and a light source.
·         color conversion, changing from one color model to another. For example the RGB to CMYK conversion that is performed by the RIP software when printing to an ink jet printer.
·         color correction, the process of altering an image so that it displays realistic color. Color correction can be done in a variety of different methods, including color balancing and manipulation of color curves.  .
·         color separations, individual printout of colors used in an image. If an image is four colors, there will be four separate prints, if the image is two color, there will be two separate prints and so on

·         color shift is an unwanted change in color. Color shift can be caused by using an incorrect rendering intent or using the wrong color model when sending a job to an output device.
·         complementary color, a color that is the exact opposite of another is called.
·         Delta E is how to pronounce AE; a standard for measuring difference in color. The smallest difference in color a normal (healthy) person with healthy eyes can distinguish.
·         densitometer, a device that measures the density of colors.
·         density is the ability of a surface to absorb a source of light. Light colors have low density; dark colors have high density because not much light is reflected off them.
·         dye sublimation, is a chemical process whereby heat is applied to an inked surface. The heat turns the ink (so no more individual droplets). The result is continuous tone. Dye sublimation works best on polyester.
·         flat color, color that is solid and contains to blends or gradations.
·         FOGRA, a non-profit research institute in Munich, Germany dedicated to setting standards in offset printing
·         GCR, Gray Component Replacement. This process replaces portions of the CMY ink with black ink throughout the image including highly saturated areas, as opposed to UCR (Under Cover Removal) which removes CMY primarily in shadow areas which are supposed to be neutral anyway.
·         gray balance, the process of removing colorcast tint from a color. Gray balance is needed when C, M and Y are not in proper proportions and all colors make a shift towards the colorcast tone and may happen at several stages of production.
·         Hexachrome inks, a trademark name for a special 8-color ink set. Hexachrome inks were popular with offset printing but were not successful at all in the world of inkjet.
·         High-Fidelity (Hi-Fi) Color, color that is reproduced using more then colors then four, usually six or more.
·         ICC, International Color Consortium. Their web site is www.color.org. Established in 1998 by eight leading companies in the field of printing and computers, with the intent of creating cross- platform color management system standards
·         ICC profiles - generating, individual device profiles are recommended and may be generated with the use of specialized profile making software and color management equipment.
·         linearization; the purpose of linearization is to adjust a device (in our instance, an output device, namely a wide-format inkjet printer) to take advantage of its full color gamut and dynamic range. The first printout of color patches will show the current state; correction will result in a more even pattern stretched out to the maximum possible for that device.
·         optical density is the measure of the blackness of a printed image. Optical density is also referred to as Black absorbs 100% of the light; white absorbs 0% of the light
·         perceptual rendering, one of the four rendering intents. Perceptual rendering is recommended for photographic reproduction. Choosing this rendering intent, converts all colors into a realistic available color space, including out of gamut color, to the same degree, which preserves relative color relationships. The other color rendering intents are Saturation, Absolute Colorimetric, and Relative Colorimetric.
·         printer profile, ICC profile of the printer and it ability to reproduce color in terms of inks and media used.
·         Relative Colorimetric adjusts all colors relative to the white point of the target gamut. Out of gamut colors are moved to the nearest color which the target gamut can reproduce. The other three rendering intents are Perpetual, Saturation, and Absolute Colorimetric.
·         Relative Colorimetric, one of the four rendering intents. Choosing this rendering intent, adjusts all colors relative to the white point of the target gamut. Out of gamut colors are moved to the nearest color that the target gamut is capable of reproducing, which is a color shift.
·         Perceptual (for photographs)
·         Saturated (for signage, to get saturated colors)
·         Relative Colorimetric (for specific colors that you need to reproduce exactly such as a logo color)
·         "rich black" is 100% K with varying amounts of Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.
·         saturation The measurement of the intensity of a color. When an image is set to 0% saturation it loses all color information, it becomes grayscale. When an image is set to 100% saturation the colors become the greatest intensity possible; vividness is highly saturated, dullness is less saturated. A lay person's description of saturation might be how strong the color was. Covering a color with a glossy surface, such as lamination, will increase the perceived saturation.
·         sRGB was an attempt by Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft to make color choices easy for the lowest common denominator,
·         TIFF is short for Tagged Image File Format for digital images, abbreviated .tif. If you are doing professional digital photography, you should save your working images in .tif format instead of jpg.
·         UCR, Under Cover Removal, obviously removes something, in this case removes some of the CMY and replaces them with K (black). This results in lower printing costs since colored ink costs more than black ink (on traditional offset presses at least).
·          OEM ,original equipment manufacturer, such as Hewlett Packard,Canon,Epson,Eurotechprinters,...etc.

As you may see above points in your RIP software or Design Software such as Adobe Photoshop,Freehand,CorelDraw…etc.

Main Issue ,To get Right Color,Right impact with  your printer and ink.
Donot forget Even all your color adjustment are correct , if your ink  color shade is weak as chimistry than you dont have chance to catch the same colors.
Specially ,Check if you are able to print Purple,Orange(like Bronze). Donot try to Flag Red,Coca-Cola Red or Parliment Blue,Most of the case, All inks can easy reach closest Gamut points of these.

Thanks for all the links that shared all useful info with me..
