When looking the Title , it is obvious to answer Whole Printer has to be tuned well. My question is which part is more important.

We already seen many different digital printers, solvent,eco solvent, textile and uv on market.

Some uses same printhead but quality is much more lower than others, Some use different ...

If you willing to buy a printer which is not known brand such as HP,Fuji,Mimaki,Roland..., then Need to check  following points :

• Which printheads using?
• Is there Temperature control on this system? Electronically and manually together...
• Media Advance system check. If you dont test it, you cannot find how skip the media advance.
• How easy to find problems and solve it? I am not talking about User or Technical Manual.It is about How simple or complicate your printer...

These are some of basic points need to be clarify.

For Me Printhead is the heart of printer ,however Heart control by Brain which is electronically and mechanically well tuned.

I  see ,some of new ,young generation European Printers coming very well such as,

*  Old Grapo New Sigmajet UV printers from Chech Republic

* Aeoon -T-shirt printer from Austria

* Eurotechprinters from Turkey

I am sure all of you had several cases..Let's share with us ...!

Since 2 years, there is big booming coming from Chinese Printer factories ,where they develop electronics for Epson DX5- DX7 printheads and got printheads from A4-A3 Epson Water based printers and serve Eco Solvent printers to market.

All over the world,These printers are chosen due to low cost and high quality level.

Due to Market share of these chinese printers are moving ,Epson as printhead manufacturer was not satisfied and change all structure of Epson DX5 and DX7 from 2013 and suddenly DX5 and DX7 old style printhead become limited on China.

What it caused that Printhead prices increased dramatically from 600USD to 1000 USD...

And For Future Printhead needs,will be very difficult for enduser.

We warn you to be careful to buy Epson DX5 or DX7 printhead chinese printers, where you may not find printheads on market easily.

-PrintHead Manufacturer : (Answer will be 2 page list of Ink manufacturers) : however Printhead manufacturers only test head with certain points ,not fully such as Color ,Print Speed,Durability..

-Media Supplier: (Answer will be Ink which they distribute) ;However Ink will be print on your printer though Speed,or clogging may occur frequently.

-Ink Manufacturer:(Answer will be My ink is the best): They known Ink characteristics more than any other however They also accept Every machine Ink system effect Ink performance means every Machine Ink must be reformulated for best result which you never hear before or will hear from them.

-Printer Manufacturer:(Answer will be Factory ink) :Factory ink always best one because they test many points on the factory and found many mistakes or design many things again for your needs.

I recommend First Try Printer Manufacturer INK which is absolute perfect but if it is expensive  Then Ask Some of your succesfull PrintShops which 3rd party ink they use now, they try use that ink which is less headache for your..

This is still continue in our wide format printer market,East countries like to have wider printers.

But when printer getting wider,then problems coming wider and bigger.

If you are looking forward 5m.Solvent based printers,many aspects are important.

Mechanics,Electronics,Ink delivery system,adaptation,Softwares,Ink and plus media handling.

When I checked many printers in the market carefully? I can recommend these printers.

1.Agfa Gandinnovations 5224: It is highly precision with SL128 spectra heads, electronics powerful and little complex to service problems but it is getting 9.5 from me from the 10 points overall.Price is expensive which is over 200.000 USD.



2.Efi Vutek 5330: It is also precision however Old concept of Carriage printer vice versa to gravity with Spectra or old Hitachi Koki heads are disadvantages.Price is always high over 200.000USD .But it is a big brand name. Due to carriage prints vice versa this printer get rank of 9 over 10 .



3.Flora Runjiang: Iit is one of the known Chinese brand and cheap products from Far East. They have several models.They push hardly Spectra Skywalker with 5m with price effective , and pushed spectra nova heads appeared in Dubai show 2009.However Skywalker heads are serious problems and Nova256 has serious bending problems seem that machine.Motion precision is highly lower than previous printer.Most effective issue of this printer is Cost.Service is another weaker point. It is much better other Lowest quality Chinese printer however This printer can get 5 points over 10.It is not my first choice to buy.

4.Teckwin:It is one of the best known Chinese printer in Europe and USA. Company had 5m spectra and ricoh printer.They have nice precision motion and body system.And price is cheaper than big players but expensive than other chinese players. Only weaker points are unstable motion control plus service support.This printer can get 6 points over 10.

5.Eurotechprinters: It is 5 years old Turkish printer manufacturer,They use extreme high quality mechanicals,and precisions with spectra nova 256.They have better price than known brand however they have also limited service capability is the weakest point. If you want choose Far East product ,We highly recommend Eurotech but If you can able to afford others,Eurotech is an good alternative.This printer can get 7.8 points over 10

6.Hp Scitex Xljet: It is very well known on the market with good stable quality and service.However it is using oldest xaar128 technology .Price is not effective when Eurotech gives same with Spectra Nova heads. But HP is an HP always....You cannot miss it...I can give 7 over 10 to HP Xljet.

Other 5m Solvent printes are highly not recommended anyone if you dont want headaches.

If course you known, What you pay is what you get !!!

New Printheads for New Printers....

Print heads are the heart of the printers which jetting ink through out.
And almost printheads are the most important part of wide format printers.
If you have specific printhead of printer ,then you have that printhead chracteristics output on your work.
New time, is high output speed, with precision drops with vivid colors.
I will recommend you some new heads and new coming rumours.

Seiko SPT510-SPT 1020-35PL
Seiko infotech company produces these heads with Xaar licensee, and reached very good reputation with high speed output, specially Chinese origin printers.
It is almost known these heads with Old Dupont Textile printers.
It is nice electronics and structure printheads however ink dependent due to environment conditions effect electronic easy.

Roland Aj-1000 ,Hollanders TExtile printers are also some of Seiko head partners.
If you look Solvent based printers, We highly recommend these heads,but you should use very good quality inks most probably Toyo inks preffered only.


KONICA 1000-512MN-14PL/42pl
Konica minolta produces heads with Xaar licensee either and very sensitive drop out with 14pl ,it is also sensitive to ink quality on 14pl .And indoor quality solvent and eco solvent and UV application with photographic outputs are preffered. At solvent based ink, Toyo ink is the top quality level supplier for reliable inks, all other inks have serious issues.For the 14pl UV inks, Sericol,Toyo,Sun Chemical is reliable partners for good quality inks.However 42 pl inks are almost open for all ink manufacturers and speed and high quality.
1000nozzle printheads are coming market new Seiko Colorpainter printers with high success with Toyo inks.
You must choose these heads if you look photographic solutions, if the ink cost is not the issue,Konica is your right choice.
(dont forget old Seiko Colorpainter,HP Designjet 9000/10000 are also used these heads)

New Konica heads are coming out soon with pricewise 35pl printheads and new high speed 1000nozzle printheads.
You will see new printers at Fespa 2010 Munich.



XAAR PROTON

The leader of the inkjet printhead manufacturer is Xaar plc, which release a year ago 382 nozzles 35pl proton heads which is simply upgraded version of Xaar 500 printheads.
Most of Chinese printer manufacturers returned Xaar these heads,such as Witcolor ,Zhongye...etc, however there is slighly electronics of printer manufactuers, inks and mechanical issues are serious cases.
Neolt(Italy) and Eurotech(Turkey) has much stable printers with these Heads are already in market.
There is only 2-3 reliable ink manufacturers of solvent and UV for these heads are, Aquatint(India) and Stetjet (Turkey) are the first ones with achievement.

Xaar Proton will be leading place for speed with optimum quality level soon.

However,Xaar has some issues with low quality printers made by far east ,damage the name of printheads.And old printheads are still a bad name for Xaar given by poor priter manufacturer except old Matan Scitex and now HP Scitex Grandjet which is most succesfful printer ever with old Xaar 128.


DIMATIX SPECTRA POLARIS AND Q CLASS
Market one of other leader is Spectra is coming out with high speed and high drop quality with 15pl and compete with Konica minolta.
One of leading Chinese printer manufacturer already pioneer and release a solvent printer with Polaris.Runjiang Flora is already spread out on Far East and Middle EAst.However printhead is complete new for applications and inks.
As we do heard that Neolt,Eurotech,and some other printer manufacturers are coming out with Solvent and UV inks to Fespa with these head.
IT is extreme higher speed compare to Konica Minolta 14pl heads and more flexible for inks .
However there is only 3 solvent ink manufacturer is fine with polaris, Shiny Color(china),Inkware(USA) and Stetjet (Turkey.)

We recommend to follow up carefull to buy these printhead printers due to little bad reputation with previous 128 spectra skywalker however first reaction of market is extreme good.

RICOH GEN E4
Old Hitachi Koki and new Ricoh since 4-5 years are coming out new Grayscale printheads use of Solvent,UV and Aquoes inks.
As Rumour, Mimaki is coming out Textile printer with them. Colorspan used to be partner with GEN e3 printhead with Ricoh.

It is high speed and high quality printheads. Ricoh is not well known in market due to OEMS are more important for them.

Keep looking Ricoh printers in Fespa 2010 .
